Humpty Sharma ki dulhania. First things first, love is irrational it makes you go crazy creates hell Lotta screw ups in your life, its probably the only emotion in which you can act completely outrageous and still be justified, having said that its one of the most selfless pure emotion one can have, so if you are going to be completely rational while watching this movie I got a news for you, love stories are not your genre. Okay so I havent had the opportunity to watch ddlj till date and Im not proud about it, but that just gives me a fresh perspective on the movie. The cast of the movie bears no problem, perfect roles for the right actors. First half starts with elements the youth can probably relate to ;) alia bhatt comes to Delhi to buy a designer lehenga and prove a point to her family, Varun finds alia attractive and thus moves out of his comfort zone and goes to great lengths to help the girl and the girls friend, Varun in the process falls in love with alia despite knowing the fact that alia is already engaged. Alia just before leaving Delhi for her hometown realizes her love for Varun. Umm nothing great nothing unexpected,right? But its the second half thats got the twist and smart Ass story modifications. The story picks up from the second half and takes you away, away into a land of love life pain and happiness, its the second half that leaves the impact. But the credit for the impact that the movie leaves on you also goes to the first half because the first half is what really makes the connection between you and the characters, you start picturing yourself as Varun, your crush as alia, his friends with your friends, all in all its the first half that puts you into the story rather than bringing the story to you by creating the connection between the audience and the characters. And my my it does help a lot because suddenly into the second half his/her struggles and emotions are now your emotions,you are able to feel their pain and joy with each passing moment! Isnt that the motive of a Bollywood love story? A ddlj inspired with a Twist love saga, with songs so powerful that they reminded me of my school time major crush while some of them created an ambience and enthusiasm that of a baarat dancing their way towards the dulhania. Humpty Sharma does get his dulhania. Something only a 3yr old wont be able to guess but the storyline and direction along with the cinematography grips you in such a fashion that despite knowing the end result you are still left hoping and praying throughout the movie that humpty should get his dulhania and at some points in the movie I really felt like saying to the lead that Bhai humpty Mujhe nai lagta yeh shaddi ho paegi yaar Shashank Khaitan the director and the writer of the movie and a true believer of love, made a movie thats going to be a love story the youth of this country are gonna watch with their own kavya in the times to come. Nowhere in the movie did it seem like its a work of a first time director. Im pretty sure half of you would be currently opening up a new tab to Google if Im right! I guess talent coupled with hard work and dedication cannot let you down. Hes made an awesome chatpati Bollywood love story that has put him up on the map and hes here to stay. Beautiful scenes mesmerizing songs gripping love story hot alia and hunk Varun makes a movie Id recommend all should watch :) and jab alia truck ke Upar khade hoke srk ka pose deke dialog bolti hai tab yeh puri paisa wasool film ban jati hai boss!
