Hungarys Producer Price Inflation Eases In September Hungarys producer price inflation slowed in September, the latest data released by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office showed Thursday. The producer price index rose 1.6 percent year-on-year in September following a 2.4 percent gain in August. Economists expected the rate of inflation to ease to 1.8 percent. The PPI for the manufacturing sector rose 2.2 percent annually. In mining and quarrying industry, prices were 3.5 percent higher than last year. The PPI for domestic sales fell 0.2 year-on-year in September. For export sales, the index rose 2.7 percent. On a monthly basis, the overall PPI remained unchanged in September following a 0.7 percent increase in August.
