Huntingdon Gymnastics Club was well represented at the prestigious London Open Competition last weekend. In the Development event Kyle Bowman took Gold in the Level 3 out of age category, with Elliot Swinburne and Matthew Toulson taking Gold and Bronze at Level 1. Also competing well were Ned Belchier, Ryan Crouchman and Oliver King, who all represented their Club for the first Time at a National event. Jacob Tuck performed a somersault vault to take Gold in the Level 4 category and the boys are all now preparing for the next event in Lincoln next month. In the Elite Section Ryan Cirino worked well across 6 pieces of apparatus to finish 13th in a field of 30, with Clubmates Kieran Burch and Niall Hooton both performing well in a field of some of the best under 10 boys in the Country. In the Level 3 Elite competition Christian Norman finished 10th, helped by a superb score of 9.35 on Pommel Horse, and in Level 4 Jake Jarman finished 5th, with Owen Harrison taking 10th. In the Under 14 category Patrick Murphy was 16th with the 5th highest score on vault, and Harry O Driscoll, fresh from a year under canvas, finished 29th with steady performances on all 6 apparatus. Tony Duchars finished in the Top 10 in the under 16 category, and Benji Eyres was 21st. The event saw Louis Smith receive an honorary award as an Inductee to the London Gymnastics Hall Of Fame, with Clubmates Daniel Keatings, Luke Carson and Cameron Mackenzie all represented in the senior category.
