Hurling. The Under 16 Hurlers took on St Dominics in the Championship semifinal last Sunday evening in Hyde Park. On a good evening for Hurling a steady breeze supported Pearses from the graveyard end in the first half. Daniel Glynn and Hugh Darcy took advantage of the wind with a total of eight points between them in the first half. But it would be wrong to think that St Dominics had no chances, in fact if not for the Pearses Keeper Kelvin Kelly, who not only kept out all comers but lent a hand to a sometimes hard pressed full back line. The second half saw the inevitable fight back by St Dominics which saw them tack on a further nine points to there tally while Pearses managed only three point and it was only a goal in the dying minutes from Daniel Glynn that put the win beyond doubt. it finished Pearses 1-11 St Dominics 0-10. Pearses await the winners of Athleague/ Tremaine V Oran in the other semifinal.
