Hurriyat (G) distributes relief cheques among flood victims Srinagar, Jan 01: Giving details of the relief distribution in Jammu & Kashmir, chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani Thursday said they have distributed cheques worth Rs 85 lakh; 10 lakh cash, food items worth 1.32 crore, bedding and clothing worth Rs 34 lakh and medicine worth Rs 14 lakh. In a statement Geelani he said, “The donations and the alms which were given by the well-off people has been handed over to the deserving people and if such persons continue their donations in future it will also be distributed with honesty and if it does not happen then this process will automatically stop and the today’s function will be termed as last function.” Geelani was addressing the people at a function held at Hyderpora office in which cheques worth Rs 50,000 were distributed among the deserving people of Baramulla, Bandipora, Pulwama and Srinagar district.
