Hurt No one wants get hurt and no one can escape hurt - TopicsExpress

Hurt No one wants get hurt and no one can escape hurt either. Sometimes when we are not careful, we may slip and hurt our hands and feet. Sometimes we cannot see the road blocks clearly ahead, so we rush forward and hit the blocks and get bruised. Sometimes when we are overwhelmed with anger, we just cannot say anything nice. Instead, our words became confrontations, and caused rifts in our relationships. No matter how careful or cautious we are, our bodies or relationships may get hurt. This is inevitable. The question is: what should we do when the hurt has been done? Should we ignore them and cover the wounds? Or should we heal the wounds and face the issue? All hurt or damages started as small cracks, and if you don’t attend to them they will enlarge and become unrepairable. When we hurt our hands or feet, we dress them with ointments. If they don’t get any better, we will see a doctor and may need antibiotics. When there is hurt in a relationship, we have to learn to see our differences. If the dividing gap is big, then one side has to take a few steps forward, walk to the other side, try to listen to the other’s point of view and see the situation from the other’s perspective. Gradually the mutual understanding without pre-determined judgment will become the first step to bridge the gap. If it is only a spur of the moments act, then wait till the heart is rested and settled. Get together for a meal or a chat and then calmly exchange views. Find consensus and solutions together and then perhaps everything will revert to their original stance and start again. As we grow older, we will realize that our hands and feet have been wounded before. We have been hurt before and relationships have become distant. Conflicts have passed and then reconnected. In the end, we find that our hearts are like this: wounded, healed, and then wounded again…… And because of these wounds and the uncontrollable, we understand that some paths in life are uncontrollable. There is unpredictable evil and there is awesome goodness. Then one day when we look back, and all these wounds have a kind of refined beauty. The Lord has allowed such marks to remind us that we have to be fearful, humble and reliant on Him. The moment we lift our arms and entrust everything to our Lord, we will be able to experience His deeper grace and healing. (Written by Shirley Loo, translated by Helen Pang.
