, Hyderabad bound Volvo bus that dashed a divider on the early hours of Wednesday on the Bangalore-Hyderabad national highway in Mahabubnagar district, 42 persons were reduced to ashes in the fire accident. It is feared that there were nearly 46 passengers on the board. Five passengers along with the driver and the cleaner escaped from the incident. The injured five passengers were rushed to Apollo hospital for medical care. The bus has a seating capacity of 44 passengers. The Volvo bus that departed at 10 pm in Bangalore on Tuesday scheduled to arrive Hyderabad 6.30am on Wednesday .The incident occurred on the at around 4.30 am and the passengers were asleep when the bus hit the culvert and its diesel tank burst resulting into bus being brought to ashes. The bodies of the passengers were burnt in such a way for beyond recognition. The driver of the bus who escaped said that with the result of the front tire of the bus that bursted and lost control over the vehicle resulted into the incident. Mahabubnagar district police in Andhra Pradesh have opened a helpline to provide information. Following are the helpline numbers: 9494600100, 08542-245927, 245930, 245932. Control room was put at Vanaparti with number 94946 00100 The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday who spoke to the District Collector over telephone has ordered a probe into the incident. He directed the District Collector and SP to submit a report into the incident. He expressed deep shock over the incident ordered the administration to extend all possible help. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu and leaders of other political parties have also expressed shock over the accident and conveyed their sympathies to the kin of the victims.
