Háu Mitákuyepi. Here is my first video attempt. These are my practice sentences in Lakota! Three ways of saying I am tired or sleepy. This video is in male speech, so women will just need to subsitute: kštó for yeló and weló he for hwo (He might also be used by men in regular everyday casual speech but I chose to use hwo in the video.) Here we go! I know I may have made a couple of errors, so please bear with me! Watúkȟa - to be tired, tired out, weary, exhausted. Wamátukȟa yeló - I am tired, weary, exhausted. Wanítukȟa hwo/he? Are you tired? Híŋhaŋni ečháŋni wektá čha líla wamátukȟa yeló. - I got up early this morning and so I am very tired. Yuǧó - to be tired, played out, exhausted, sleepy tired. Bluǧó weló - I am tired, played out, exhausted. Luǧó hwo? - Are you tired? Aŋpétu waŋ líla háŋska čha bluǧó weló. -It has been a long day and I am exhausted. Ȟwá - to be sleepy, drowsy. Maȟwá yeló - I am sleepy. Niȟwá hwo? - Are you sleepy? Chuŋkší, niȟwá hwo? - Daughter, are you sleepy? Pȟežúta kiŋ hé iwáču čha wanŋá maȟwá yeló. - I took that medicine and now Im sleepy/drowsy.
