I AM...... What two great words denoting past, present and future. What a brilliant self description of an invisible God, that He Is. Many believe He is not, a truly sad mistake. I believe that I Am is! Then, He ups the verb-age and the stakes to Moses: I Am that I Am. What a circular loop that is. Those I Ams could be spoken consecutively for eternity, and it would not be enough. You have to be I Am to be I Am. Only I Am can handle or comprehend all of I Am. Then, He abandons the possibility of I Am fitting into the grammar or the vernacular when He said, Tell them I Am has sent you. The enormity of the meaning bars using it well in a sentence. You see, I Am is more Is or Am than any of us. He Was before us, He Is after us, He always Was. He is the ultimate reality. He is the reason we or anything exists. And when the pride of life falls away from us, and we finally realize that compared to Him that we are not, then He swoops in lovingly and stamps I Am upon us, for a truly Divine identity. Now watch I Am in action. They come to arrest Jesus at Gethsemane. They say Who they are seeking. He reluctantly says, I Am He! Everyone falls down, not able to stand in the presence of I Am speaking out His own name. It is such a problem to the will of God getting done, which is the Cross, that when Pilate tries to get a repeat, and asks Who He is, Jesus only says, You have said. He is not about to utter the great words I Am again, at least not before His sacrificial death. Meditate I Am for several days. I dare you to squeeze more revelation out of that phrase. Bless Jesus forever!
