I CAN HEAR MUSIC. Last night, the basement drain backed up, flooding our cellar with water. Hoping the floodwaters would recede overnight, we instead awoke to find that that they had claimed even more territory. Since all water in the house enters that downstairs pipe, we had to cease opening drains and flushing toilets. I wont elaborate on the repugnant problems it causes to have every sink, tub and privy in shutdown mode. Suffice it to say that we knew real joy when Doctor Rooter finally arrived at 5pm to extract the tree roots obstructing our pipes. Sometimes the sound of a flushing toilet is sweeter music than anything Vivaldi ever composed.
