I Corinthians 9:18: Exposing the Professional Ministry! What - TopicsExpress

I Corinthians 9:18: Exposing the Professional Ministry! What then is my reward? Just this: that IN preaching the Gospel I may offer it FREE OF CHARGE, and so NOT MAKE FULL USE of my rights as a preacher of the Gospel. Are you kidding me? Since when does anything written IN this verse hold true to the majority of those who are part of the professional ministry today? When the going gets tough, the status quo Christian leader remains clueless as to what the trial or test is really all about. So they turn to their own so called leaders, the ones who have been spoon fed by their congregations ever since the day they stepped out of cemetery, I mean seminary. The only problem is, they are just as clueless when it comes to anything other than knowing the elementary gospel. They know all about performing for God and giving lip service to Him, but know nothing about developing a REAL relationship with Christ. And since they themselves dont want anything to do with the losing to gain message of the Cross they replace the Real Truth of the Gospel of Grace with their own man centered doctrines of comfort, ease, and prosperity! And they do this to the point of convincing whoever is not walking IN the same comfort and ease, that they are somehow cursed of God. You here them say things like, if only they gave to the church they wouldnt suffer as they do. Or they must not be living right with all the suffering they go through. The fact is they have used their stubbornness of refusing to yield their own EVERYTHING to God to create an entire industry based on helping the believer to see himself as a success rather than see Christ as his or her only Life. And as far as NOT MAKING FULL USE OF THEIR RIGHTS, are you kidding me? The average American pastor makes a regular weekly paycheck of somewhere between $50-100 plus thousand annually, and that doesnt include other perks like free housing and gifts from the church, and being lavished on by their own members who are often times jockeying for their own piece of the ministry pie. These so called bought and paid for leaders who are employees of the church wouldnt think of biting the hand that feeds them, so instead of preaching the REAL Word of truth that is meant to offend, they feed their people the DIFFERENT gospel lie, the lie that says if they do this FOR God then God will do this for them. And what is Gods opinion of the professional ministry as it stands today? Just look at the following verses if you really want to find out? The Lord says: These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught. Isaiah 29:13 They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong. They are free from common human burdens; they are not plagued by human ills. Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence. From their callous hearts comes iniquity their evil imaginations have no limits. They scoff, and speak with malice; with arrogance they threaten oppression. Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth. Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance. They say, “How would God know? Does the Most High know anything?” Psalm 73:4-11 My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of Living Water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. Jeremiah 2:13 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of Grace? Hebrews 10:29 Then contrast the above with the following; But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:7-12
