I FOUND TWO GIANT CATFISH ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. This incident - TopicsExpress

I FOUND TWO GIANT CATFISH ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. This incident happened on that particular pension day when the mad thing left. I went to the wash machine shop to ask about my Wilkins Service Twin Tub wash machine. Nothing was done yet the boss said, the person to weld it is not here, he’s resigned his job, I don’t know where it is or where he put it unless it’s one of those ones on the sidewalk to go to the dump, suit yourself. I went for my mail and managed to make a paymeent to the Bankcard but only just. Food I bought was very minimal, to live through another fortnight would be hell now, it’s either to be eating the Maggi Noodles all the time or going to Saint Vincent De Paul Soup Kitchen for free food and I didn’t want to do that. I prayed about it for help. I was cycling home that evening, just as I came to the wash machine shop I saw these two giant Catfish on the side of the road, one was in the gutter, the other on the road right in front of me. They were both a meter long, ten kilograms of fish and they were both alive. How they came to be there nobody knows because the river bank was about a quarter of a mile straight down hill. I believe that God put them there for me to find and eat. They would have come out of the sky. I parked the bicycle against the industrial bin of the wash machine shop, pulled two empty cartons out, put first the fish that was on the road in one and put it on the carrier and tied it with one rubber belt. I took the one from the gutter and put it in the second carton, then I put that on top of my wire basket in the front and tied it on with the other rubber belt. I carefully cycled home, washed and cleaned them out at the kitchen sink and I was eating grilled catfish for the next fortnight before my pension comes again and I finally move out leaving the place myself for good. I took my cart after tea and found my wash machine earmarked for the dump and took it home. Seven Day Adventists were knocking on doors the next day collecting donations, a pastor and his wife who were both Yugoslavs. When I identified myself, the woman said in Yugoslav a saying that translaates in English, Birds Of A Feather Stick Together. They took me to their service at Mount Gravatt and I liked it, it was better than the Buranda Chapter. I asked them if they had a Bible to give me because I needed one and the Pastor gave me one printed on Yugoslav. It was printed in the Cirilic alphabet. I can read Cirilic I said and told them how I had a book that grandpa taught me Cirilic from, PRINCE AND THE PAUPER. They were amazed to see me to be so knowledgeable. I had a big collection of books that I finished reading and was building up a library from, they were one thing that made it heavy and hard for me whenever I needed to move house and I had a premonition that I’ll be moving house very soon.
