Im posting this in memory of Kenny Drew Jr., a fine jazz pianist (and classical pianist) who died earlier this week. I always enjoyed his work, whether he was performing by himself or in clubs with Frank Morgan, Steve Turre, Stanley Turrentine.... He sure inherited some strong musical genes; his father was jazz pianist Kenny Drew, whod worked with Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Art Blakey and others. I interviewed the father at length years ago at the fathers home in Copenhagen. The father did not raise Kenny Drew Jr., though; the boys mother and maternal grandparents raised him. (And the son considered them far greater influences in his life.) But both father and son became well-respected musicians. https://youtube/watch?v=d8Vw5r7-vgs
