I JUST HAD ONE OF THOSE INDIAN SCAMMERS PHONE UP ....... I WISH I HAD MORE TIME AT THE TIME TO WASTE MORE OF HIS TIME ... SHAME... Him:- Hello - I am calling from your Internet provider - your computer has a virus on it and we need to fix it. Me:- Oh no - Thats terrible - which one? Him:- What do you mean- which one? Me:- Well we have six computers - which one has got the virus on it? Him:- Oh ...errr. ... you have six? Well it does not matter which one just log on to our servers and we will do a search and we will fix it for you. Me:- OK - But how do you know that my computer has a virus on it? Him:- Well it has been sending us messages telling us that today ... Me:- OH No that is terrible and worries me even more - as they have been turned off all day - so it must be a really bad virus to do that ...... Him:- oh yes .... well you better start your PC up and log onto our website and download our software to rid your computer of the nasty Virus. Me:- OK I will do that right away ... Are you working on behalf of my Internet Provider BT? Him:- Yes I am calling from BT ..... Me: Oh Great !!! Cos I would not let BT touch my Internet connection as I dont have a BT Internet connection. What do you take me for you scamming lying thieving scum *%££@#~@€ !!! (Dont worry .. I was not racist!) The worrying thing is - this guy was calling from a call centre that sounded really busy - so this is serious organised crime. The number was a +91 Indian number. I wish I had more time and I would have just sat there and wound him up wasting the total losers time. If he calls you - go along with everything he says - but pretend ... dont download the software - and just frustrate him telling him it does not work and that the virus might be more worse than ever !!! ;-)
