Schwartzman is best known as the lead vocalist of the rock/pop band Rooney . He has also acted in The Virgin Suicides , both directed and co-written by his cousin Sofia Coppola as well as the film, The Princess Diaries with Anne Hathaway . He also just worked on the film score to the independent film Palo Alto, starring James Franco and Emma Roberts. Schwartzman is the son of actress Talia Shire ( Rocky , The Godfather ) Many other members of Schwartzmans family are involved in film: he is the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola , and cousin of Nicholas Cage .
