I LONG TO SEE I long for the day That I will realize The past memories Of a strong woman With a baby on her back Not a baby on board sticker The days of motherly warmth Where the love and care Between mother and child Was so affectionately intimate Without rocking chairs and cots A woman who breast feed Without any shame I long for the day That I will see a woman Carrying a twenty liters bucket Hands free on her head Balancing it by the rhythmic Swaying of her slithering waist A woman who kindles The passionate fire of love Without the on and off switches Those were the days Where a woman was not inspired By any foreign ideologies But driven by her inner nature Loving and caring Expecting nothing back Giving and protecting Holding nothing back I long for the days I long for the days Where a woman was a wife Not by choice but by natural right The days where she was a mother By her natural creative capabilities Not because of the economic status Gone are those days Days where love making Was electrifying and life giving Without rubbery insulation And animal hormones for prevention I long for those days Where women and men were equals Being Kings and Queens of Kingdoms Can I see those days again Can I find that woman with an apron Independent like any man in an overall suit A woman like Mama Lilian Ngoyi, Mama Charlotte Maxeke, Mama Miriam Makeba Mama Brenda Fassie or any other of the stalwarts Can I find that woman Who fights against injustice Not waging war against men A woman whos willing to walk down The isle of life hand in hand with a man To build a better future for their kids Let me find that woman And she will find a non abusive man A loving and caring husband Expecting nothing in return Giving and protecting Without holding anything back I long to see that day Signed by Primordial man
