I LOVE YOU Funny response of asian parents when the child say I LOVE YOU for the first time. their response Are you okay.? you need money ? did you drink so much etc. Alhamdulillah i dont have difficulty to express love to my parents. it was vacation time in college. my friend stayed in my house. we enjoyed the day and then back to the city for study. soon before I leave. I kiss and hug my parents and salem (grab the parents hand and hold it in my forehead) as sign of respect. on the way my friend asked me you kiss your father ? unbelievable. I replied have you never done this?, I told her Its my habit since I was kid before going to school I got kissed from my father and now I am the one who will kiss and hug him before leaving the house. she said whaat...the world will be catastrophic if i did that to my father, just awkward we never expressed it though we love each other. I just response her we have different way to show the love. one day my mum calling me Diamond (my language intan) Mum call us sometimes with the word TAN . she asked me to grab something. but my aunt pass by and heard it. did you call her diamond..? yes mum replied. she said I never call my children diamond, I feel strange. Mum said they are all my children my diamond and I used to call them even when they were kids so none of us feel it is strange so if you wish your children say I Love YOU or hug and kiss you. the key is you as parents need to start it from the very beginning. it remind me of prophet Muhammad PBUH. He used to kiss children and loved them very much. Once he was kissing children when a Bedouin came and said, “You love children very much. I have ten children and I have never kissed one of them.” Prophet Muhammad PBUH replied, “What can I do if God takes away love from you?”. although those whos not doing it that doesnt meant they dont love each other. but I believe every one of us deep inside heart happy for simple hug, or word to express how much they meant to each other.
