I LOVE being an active member of our democracy! Hanging up the phone after calling your Senators or Representatives office to voice your concern about an issue just feels right! Consider this, citizens of New Hampshire: House Bill 1410 would include animals under the domestic violence protection statute. It was passed unanimously through the Senate Judiciary committee Tuesday and now its headed to the full Senate for a vote next Thursday, May 15th. If this bill passes then victims of domestic violence can petition the courts to include their animals in a restraining order. You can help ensure animals will be protected as well by voicing your support of HB 1410 by contacting your senator before next Thursday. I just contacted Senator Laskys office to ask her to support the bill.
