I MISS THE OLD EASTSIDE....back then The Boys & Girls Club was packed, not just the summer but YEAR ROUND! They used to hv a CARNIVAL n MEGA parking lot. There was dances @ gyms, churches & schools that everybody attended. There was always a house party or get together & even if u wasnt family u could attend. MLK Park was so packed that the line of cars came almost to I-10. Everybody washed their cars on Sunday, even if it wasnt dirty just to b amongst the crowds. There was always sum ol school dude that u could get a dollar from. Most of the projects had basketball courts n em so kids always had sumthing to do. Ppl went places & wasnt in fear of what might happen. Even if the parents didnt go, they made sure they kids went to church. We had a million things to do, nvr worrying about being bored or losing our lives. B4 the gangs, everybody was friends & it might b 20kids walking/catching the bus sumwhere to hv fun not b a problem......CAN WE GET THEM DAYS BACK PLZ?
