I Never Saw It Coming. When We Moved To Hernando Close To 9yrsago We Lived In A Neighborhood Cove Surrounded By Young Families. I Really Cant Say That We Were Super Close To Any Of Them,But We Knew All Of Them Well Enough To Feel Comfortable In Their Midst. These Days,Your Neighbors Come Blowing In The Driveway After Work,Hit The Remote To The Garage Door,& Close The Door Behind Them So As To Not Be Bothered. Me Being A Preacher Mighta Even Given Them A Little More Motivation To Be In A Hurry! Gone R The Days Of Trading Vegetables,Laughing Together In Lawn Chairs,& Keeping Each Others Children. Alot Of The Smaller Kids Would Follow The Older Bell Boys Around,But We Couldnt Get Close To Their Parents. One Such Family Had A Yard That Was The Envy Of The Neighborhood. It Looked Like A Putting Green Just Outside The Door Of The Country Club. It Seemed That This Family Had Everything U Could Ever Wish For. They Were A Ken & Barbie Couple With 4 Kids & A Poodle Dog. One Day In Mid-Afternoon I Saw The Mom Come Outside,Sit Straddled In The Middle Of The Carport,& Light Up A Cigarette. I Surmised That She Had Just Got All 4 Of Her Preschool Kids Down For An Afternoon Nap & Was Taking A Smoke & Coke Breather! Little Did I Know All The Stressing That Was Taking Place In That House. Sad To Say It Was A House & Not A Home. After 6yrs Of Watching This Family Living In Camelot,They Fell Totally Apart. It Turned Out That They Were Getting Nowhere In A Hurry. I Should Have Tried Harder. These R Not Good Days To Be Too Lazy To Help The Crazies. Everybody Gets A Case Of Them Sometimes,& We Must Be Willing To Make Ourselves Available. We R All So Busy Being Important That We Dont Notice Those That R Right Under Our Nose That Might Be Struggling. Lets All Decide To Be Better Neighbors. Youve Got An Extra 5 Minutes,Dont U?
