REALIZATION: Yes, Dell....it can even happen to you. Regardless of all the steps one can take, identity theft is like the DEVIL....ALIVE & WELL!!! This is a situation that I know everyone dreads, and even with all the horror stories surrounding the topic, it has become truly apparent...no one is safe from being a victim in this day and time. After trying NOT to channel the spirit of my Mother, and the way Jo Ellen would have handled this...my experience has certainly been an educational. No matter what life scoops and dumps into your sandbox, you always live and learn. I can remember a time, and no...it really was not that long ago, that when I spent the night with my Papa & Nanny...we went to sleep many nights without the front door being locked at night. Until an event occurred when I was around 10, there was never a second thought given to the door being locked or not, on that peaceful street where life on a summers night consisted of shelling butter beans on the porch swing, surrounded by family and friends...talking about everything, and yet nothing at all. Falling asleep with raised windows and the hypnotic sound of a roaring attic fan that made the sandman come right away and take you to dreamland for the most peace wonderful rest that one now can only imagine. To quote the Bunker Family...those were the days. Alas, in present day, I leave it with this...to the person residing in Tucker, Georgia who decided to become me....CONGRATULATIONS...you have excellent taste in people. I hope you enjoy everything that you purchased on your shopping spree at Target...ranging from your new 60 inch TV, to the 3 BEATS...only for me to be in the mind frame of BEETS...as in the vegetable....since I guess I am not up on what the latest crave is in electronics at this point and time in my life. You may have won the battle, but just as all evil in this world, you will not win the war. So, on behalf of this ole fashioned guy who will continue to buy stamps to mail my bills, NOT shop online, still FIGHT THE FIGHT to do away with TEXTING in this world, and yes, continue my pursuit to restore the art of conversation to this fast paced world...enjoy...this one was on me.....but one day....you will pay the bill, and sadly.....you will be charged interest, in ways you could never imagine. Papa was right...locked doors are for an honest man....and in this life...well, there are doors of all kind. Wise words to a 10 year old, from a very wise man. Soapbox down.
