I (Robin) was raised in a Pentecostal church. Ive spoken the heavenly language and have even been slain in the Spirit. Thats when the Spirit of God comes upon you so powerfully that you do a free fall to the floor and are in no way harmed. In my case I flipped head first over an alter and landed on my back. Not a scratch. Awesome experience to say the least. The Holy Spirit is real and hes for today. He may not always manifest himself the same way and he will never force himself on anyone either. Gods been bringing back to my mind my heritage lately and the power that can be found when we allow the Holy Spirit to do what he wants to in our lives. He will never do something out of order but I often wonder at how much he seems to be hindered in todays churches. Its the ALMIGHTYS SPIRIT!!! What do we have to be afraid of?! It brings me to one of my favorite hymns of all time that Ive had in my head consistently for a month now. You wont leave here like you came in jesus name. Bound, oppressed, tormented, sick or lame. For the Holy Ghost of Acts is still the same. You wont leave here like you came in Jesus name. Jesus be praised.
