I disagree. Socialism is a red herring. Its the candy people like Obummer use to get votes. All you have to do is look at the actual results of their policies for proof of it. Socialism, if exercised as promised, benefits the so-called underprivileged to improve their stead (even if done immorally by coercing the collection process, and even if counter-productive by stifling entrepreneurial initiative, growth and economic expansion). The people named as the beneficiaries of the alleged social fairness espoused by the politicians in this country end up worse off over time. The promises made with the socialist rhetoric are not realized -- and it happens with way to much regularity to be coincidence. You are left to either think the people implementing it are complete morons or that it is intentional. (I suspect the useful idiots notion of Lenin is accurate and its a mixture of both. Some who fully intend to create victims and never sufficiently help them, and some who really think its all a peachy idea who are too stupid to know they are being used. If it was solely stupidity, these people wouldnt be able to continue to fool their target demographic into thinking that its in their best interest to keep re-electing them despite their continued failures) What Obama and those like him actually are (including their counterparts on the right) is oligarchs, crony-corporatists and fascists. And as long as people keep accusing them of being socialists, their plan to fool their support structure into believing it too is all that much easier.
