I STRONGLY, STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH JIM PRENTICE ON THIS ISSUE: He says, “We would partner not only with the private sector, but we would also partner with faith communities.” What we DO need is an Alberta Long Term Care Protection Act that says we will NOT contract long term care to charities, private agencies or entrepreneurs unless it is CLEARLY in the public interest to do so. Long term care for people of all ages is a public service. It is NOT a charity or a private enterprise!
