I Thessalonians 4:7-8 - For God has not called us for the purpose - TopicsExpress

I Thessalonians 4:7-8 - For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification. So, he who rejects this is not rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you. Everyone has a calling on their lives from God. Some may not have a ministry to hundreds or thousands, but of greater importance is our calling to sanctification or holiness. This is the Lords mandate for each of us in order to minister first to our family and friends and whomever else He decides. We do not choose our work. That is for the Lord to decide. However, we do choose whether God will equip us. To reject sanctification disqualifies us from the work He would have us to do. Never minimize turning from sin, beloved of God. Without our turning there can never be His turning us out to do His great work. May we turn and keep turning away from the seduction of this world that we might return to Christ as He will then turn us loose to perform His will.
