! I! William David Bragg I Comparative Religion Reflections of Common Three weeks in to the quarter and I finally make it to class – but this is not to infer any measure of reluctance by me to participate in the exercise; but rather the nature of “life happens”. To expand briefly, I was violently assaulted on March 25th, 2013 – and the new semester began as of April 1st. “My Professor really resembles my grandmother, on my fathers side of the family!” was my first impression – a woman known by me as simply “Grand mommy”. On top of all this stands the fact that the Professor is also a woman, and a part-time minister. “Well Blessed and Highly Favored” is the common of colloquialisms that spring to mind – as for me this is simply “metaphysics at play”; merely another fine example of how His Hand is always visible, all ways. Anyhow, week three and we are just commencing with a discussion on Native American Religions – covering topics such as “Animism” & “Polytheistic” forms of ritual ceremony (protocols of worship); and as perceivably developed or cultured by natural observation as interpreted by man concerning the mechanisms at work, seen and unseen, in or by the act or actions of goal-oriented or progressive-interfacing: man with its environment, or man and nature; such as exists in a “cause and effect” reality. In my opinion? Animism, as is polytheism, are “principle’s of common” that span across all Faith – to complete the dynamic one need only acknowledge that ancestor worship; taboo; and sacrifice (personal & communal); are also part of the same common – “that which is knowable or can be known” - by sight, sound, taste, smell and touch (externally); as discernable by critical thinking (an ! II! available of conscious-consciousness) as predicated upon the emotions of reason that concern a predetermined or given of will/initiative of man: growth and continuum of life (survival) is a common of civic-good and sound civil governance. Not too shabby for a bunch of heathen “hairless apes” as us. To be wholly truthful, one must also consider that “Vision Quest”; “Faith-walk”; “Pilgrimage”; “Daily of Routine”; and “That by Nature”; are equal in the understanding of one universal common – as associable: “I have written my Word in your hearts”; respectively. Just as Symbolic; Idealist; Rational; “Common-Sense”; and “Philosophy”; are all part and parcel of one family, one body. I believe that the giant referenced in the Book of Daniel offers a clear and definitive depiction of what one mass, composed of many elements to collectively forge real and tangible ore; would resemble. Individually, we each represent a faction of independent persona – always. We each are offered the potential of engaging in such as of being conscious - unification, as by choice. To stand in unison as one collective – assembled or fashioned by an understanding of man of the principles of heaven and earth; for the opportunity to participate in the realization of a way that encourages mutual betterment of all and a continuum that is eternal and if only by reason of a natural ability to perpetuate naturally. In the comparison of Native American Religious practices wherein it is reflected that the Native American believed in 2 souls: one material and one of spirit; in genuine becomes a dynamic of 3 whereby in takes mind, or consciousness, to discern in components of separation, or even the existence of 2. Greek if you ask me – as predicated by the ID that is. Syncretism is to assimilation as “When I was a child, I thought as a child. And as a man I put aside such thoughts to think as a man.” Inasmuch as the understanding of “will I know my family members who have passed on recognize ! III! me?” Can relate to a comprehension of “stay in the land of the dead until people forget you” can be a pivotal juncture. Wherein, the Catholic have “Purgatory”; the Hindi “reincarnation”; the “Native American” have the land where the dead are; would be the Christian: Quaker; Mormon; Catholic; Anglican; Baptist; etc. (and I believe then lineage “State-side” is more recognizable: Native American; Christian; Amish; Methodist; Puritan; Quaker; Mennonite; etc. – please confirm structure of documented time-line); the principle being that the model is always present and constant – that the people have not been a from completely separate people, but a victim to such predetermines of principality. Reflective of that which is written: “As I pass through the valley of the shadow of death...” With life and death representing cross-platform equivalents between matter and numerology – material and mathematical; energy and the dimensional transition thereof; or doorway as to; eternity (The valley also possibly more reverenced as “the river”). Have I said lately how much I absolutely LOVE this class! Ironically, the book now brings us to the African region. Personally, I believe we began from Africa (Mesopotamia River Area) & (post-flood); some spread over Asia and off to the land bridge to North America; North – East – South and West they went. With societal understanding of Native American People being of Asian descent, you would figure that there would be they, which analyses and update understandings – especially within the Faith at least. Anyhow, here we have “Earth Mother” as opposed to the Native American “Mother Earth” – in my opinion this would be properly expressed as a consciousness as to principles of agriculture – and common in association of all cultures – as respect in reverence to God or god; consideration of best or first fruit of culture; tithe; sacrifice; etc., i.e.: an available God – a presence of God – ! IV! God watching – seeking favor from God; man evolving in understanding of itself and the environment it which it is expected to succeed – for God & Family; or For God & Country... Seems pretty plain to me. I guess it depends on the perspective one is seeking for self as of self or from self; and as an intricate component of all else as well. Just as the Universe revolves around the sun, so personalities revolve around given or “cultured” - ideological increments of diverse philosophy – or personal dimensions as Einstein would reflect; I believe the Greeks would reference this as being theatre; and them as being “players”. Water is also a fine barometer of understanding – as is the recognition of snakes or serpents being indicative as a marker representing a darkness; inherent evil; negative energy or spirit. Traditions of birth ranging in diversities, but most common being that of a Father seeking God’s favor for wisdom; strength; prosperity; and good fortune for their respective son(s). With the LoDagga People of Ghana, I believe it can be witnessed “they saw purgatory” in phases, or attributable “levels” such as: - the wicked; - debts & debtors; - and long suffering as tangible or natural human expressions of presence, both of evil and/or good “The wicked”, would need to “swim across a river that would take one 3 years to fulfill; and “debtors”. Syncretic is the understanding of the soul’s need to make atonement for one’s incurred debts accrued in the course of one’s life, and with such fervor that includes any and all. The only reflective of “limbo” being such time as one does wait for instruction or for another to arrive - but always active in prayer and action. ! V! The constant of relationship for life as being a time, a window, an opportunity; for teaching; and the witness, as associable, to one’s actions and words being the base platform for trial and tribulation, is evident in all. All sharing in one common of understanding, “the fear of God, or (more appropriately) the fear of trespass against God” – being the principle from which every understanding of man does spring. “Life” as being the plain where one has an opportunity to rise in consciousness and/or grow closer in understanding of God, Just Values, and Heaven; and the direct relationship to civic position and a personal account for responsibilities to establish just Godly outposts on earth. I do believe that I would be remiss to leave out the Hindi or Buddhist understanding of reincarnation, as such does also relate or reflect a time of purgatory. “Just” as in fair and equal - even as the Christian understands that life itself being the valley: where all expressions of free will manifest one’s journey through purgatory; respectively. Compare the High Priest to the “diviner” or Spiritual Curer – to the Prophet – to the king. All represent the common of virtues of a Sheppard or God endowed leader and how such does also bring forward the principles of “greatest to the least” structure or account of person and personage. Just as the “Ajwaka”; “jok”; “Demon”; or “Imp” are also reflective of an evil spirit; or a recognized recognizable (as in known or knowable; or seen and unseen) degree or position of a fully conscious, fully discernable; civic, and even militant, evil. “Nature Spirits” being trumped by Spirits of the Ancestry also demonstrates the seen and unseen continuum that forges all reality – and every rational of reason and philosophy; as does integrity also relate to a common of loyalty – or the basis of a premise of “build upon the rock; not the sand”, and the principle of “go and ! VI! do”; “go fourth and procreate” – the emphasizes is on “Pro” as a common of “Life” and the available of consciousness being the opportunity for both a personal, civic, and natural harmony attainable through agreement as by personal and societal choice: “if my people hear my words and turn from their wicked ways...” A reality completely un-natural by ego, as is possible through “pray without ceasing”; “meditate in His Word daily”; “Prayer, then move feet” – “All is possible in God”. Just as “no weapon shall prevail” – a Godly community is an invincible force of many standing as one: undivided in principle and each are the benefactor of their own actions, with full entitlement to judgment as predicated upon one’s actions – physical and intellectual. As “Achebe” is a descriptor of man as by man’s desire for self; “Antiquity” can be understood in: “man as by man’s desire for self, as by the will, favor or Blessing of a real designer or present higher presence”; as by or through such understanding the opportunity for a moral standard or a just common is made manifest. To genuflect briefly: the 12 rules of Rome do coincide with the 12 Tribes of Judah; as doth also equate to the Ten Commandments, plus 2 (Sermon on the mount); and the predetermines of all Faith’s, respectively - all can be principally displayed in the dynamic of a client employing or engaging an architect and an engineer to use such known or knowable principles of absolute commons as does provide the opportunity that a house can be built, if and when the client does choose and the manpower is available and interested in the position, or “job” as it were. Planned and executed; purchase and fulfillment of contract (covenant); “cause and effect”, or the why of because - that distinguishes both seen and unseen or the metaphysical principles of natural commons - the clear principles of discern, or logic and reason, as does quantify ownership and the respective personal or collective right principles that reflect a genuine right too; and as of being born ! VII! into, a birth right; a right of passage; a mission or vision quest – as are also discernable by intent and action. However, this is a win/win or a loose/loose scenario, again reinforcing the personal accountability considerations of the given equation. If you are for good, you will be rewarded with good. If you are for evil, you will be rewarded with evil. Just as it takes a great measure of stress over time to forge a diamond from a lump of coal – long suffering in effort to gain clear or a clearer understanding can also be reflected as separating the wheat from the chaff as by use of a millhouse or “milling by passing of stone over vegetation” a “Smitty” or blacksmith placing raw material into a fiery furnace too mold or remold, to cast or caste, into a desired excellence. Where systemic is so-joined or sojourned, to endemic – to realize or make visible. Finally, Omnipresent is understandable as in “being God of all or not God at all”; this is where one separates the fabricated from the real. That which becomes more visible through the connectivity of a “world history” – or, “the proof is in the pudding”. If it has been a matter of reflective repetition of common traits of right and wrong as naturally exist in peoples of completely disconnected regions – but similar and simultaneous as of a cohesive consciousness, it is God - for it must be God; as there is no other equitable physical, intellectual, or spiritual understanding known or knowable. As in: “For me and my house, we shall serve the Lord”, that which is of me, by me, for me – before God and man - and by that which is available in me; does stand throughout all time and all of mankind as the common from which both prosecution and defense are available. Alas, this is as far as any are permitted to go as a guide that go before. The remainder of the journey is for each to walk of self – the pilgrimage – through personal effort to live life to full favor of God. In order to reach one’s destination, each must seek the assistance of “the Ferryman” for safe passage – as He hath ! VIII! built the only vehicle sure enough to braise the river – as only He Himself holds deed to the river as by birthrite. For such can never be realized by teaching alone until exampled as acted upon by one and as by individual choice. I call His name, Jesus, YashewuhJaeweh: the Holy Trinity of One God as God is God – or the true Truth of “I am that I am” – because I am. Amen and Amen. Well, teacher says that there is no easy out and there must be a sincere effort to quantify the other Faiths – as I had not taken any notes on the Bena’I Understanding last night, I will offer – I believe that it would be appropriate and timely to suggest that the Bena’I, giving the most true understanding as to man’s purpose bing to seek out God in all ways – does equate to Jesus proclamation “search me”. This Faith also presents the continuum of government to wish to establish itself as the terminal – distribution center – for delving out Blessings, as intercepted or manipulated by the exploitation of His children – “Government will determine what is to rich or too poor.” Now – to redirect back and conclude with the similarities of the LoDagga People of Ghana (Africa): Ancestor’s – and the Shakespearean ability to perhaps manifest as a “cloud of witnesses” – or as would relate to a personal ability to relate or identify – and as could be understood as in “Heavenly Hosts” – or even the miracle on the mount of transfiguration with even the event was manifested Christ who was himself transformed as the other two appeared. Although I do believe the understanding given of the Prophet being both a person that delivers the messages of the gods and also animistic would demonstrate the natural discern of the heart to recognize a physical connection – yet an intimidation to be certain enough to equate that God sends messages by both human messenger and symbol – as both equate to a specific instruction or ! IX! context of instruction; yet perhaps afraid to say too much when it comes to giving a specific. Christianity is direct enough to classify both man and beast – from a Sheppard to a donkey – and things with wings and as live in the earth and sea. There is a boldness written of, as only capable of being fully lived – fully expressed, by one – as that causes all to happen; such as that which all the wealth in the world cannot purchase. To Witness is to give account – another caviot of pentacost. As is another common “cross platform” as the dedication of a Father and a Mother for their child; life; the life or a life of a man ; the life of a woman; life of a child or relative. That is also important in a dynamic of neighbor – they should be addressed politely, but also as a child – do not probe but allow to unfold. A great new game – “guess my God” – like verbal charades (how profound). It is most strange that Christians have yet to equate themselves with realists, and pagans. I mean, “sweet 16” birthdays to first hunt; Easter to Christmas; body- markings... Unto the historical depiction of those who eat flesh and drink blood – Pagan is the general qualities of natural man at his or her base level of understanding, by God “a diamond in the ruff” or work in progress. No sooner requested: “Jainism”; the founder declared “Mahavira” (great hero). As in the time of Jeremiah and Ezekiel. In Jainism there begins an understanding of “crossing builders” called Tirthankaras to escort or guide ones life and entrance into Nirvana. This I feel may also be expressed in the vision of Jacob’s Ladder. Spirits that are available continuously for those searching the path, living the life, or even desiring to. From Orthodox to Novice, such measure as is a direct realization of the true measure of interest. Life being the quest to collect to give person to our identity to such understanding as does rid us of the superficial need for such dependency – or material is much ! X! more than matter - and we return home. So begin as wealthy and claim cleansing being an absence of material – that which does humble. To others, it begins in abject poverty, or abuse - or addiction – and the overcoming of such and acquire such wealth or freedom from circumstance or situation that is that which humbles. Like the understanding of Philanthropy being an aesthetic of ascetic. “I am soul”, “I am soul” as in answer to the question “am I soul?” as learned “soul I am”-”soul am I” becomes complete in “I am soul”. Logic, reason, and environment are subject to the priorities of the authority in immediacy – and by God as well – where the ideal has always been that which does manifest the latter over the former, as is given is the true truth of wisdom. I believe this is also conveyed in the reverence in which any article having been recognized as being given from above: from dream to vision; visitation to manifestation; person to animal to teaching – is most commonly referenced as being of God, Godly or God-Like – with some cultural or societal leaders believing themselves to be the embodiment of God on earth. The Vetic Books and especially “ahimsa” – as referenced in kind to the being like the hypocratic oath, I would find to be an inspiration for a possible associative dynamic marker of pharmacy & medicine and would be curious to the practice thereof reflective regionally developing at or because of such mind set, and whether trade routes were a vehicle or if the “universal consciousness” had manifested so as to prepare a base receptivity of or to people or cultures a greater or variation of understanding concerning God. More than just do no harm – Hinduism being the parent or mother faith of Buddhism and tangents of equally qualified off-shoot practices of Faiths showing a conscious appreciation of physical relativity – or connectivity; being like or as in “let food be your medicine and medicine be your food” being expressed spiritually in answer to possibly a formally requested healing (prayer) or in ! XI! response of a Father looking over His children even before the children knew they could petition an ever-present Father of all authority and concept as well – However, to state “no recognized atonement” in the same sentence as understands the consideration of a natural evolution of behavior verses a direct acting on as to evoke a new or adaptive behavior– from animal to human to animal with human; is a grievous err that negates its own credibility to be reflective of either a cognitive or cohesive mannerism of study. Life does not take place in a vacuum – even a “created vacuum” is merely the evidence to understand the delusions of personal will that are confounded by His way. “Ahimsa”, this man does exert, as an understanding of a dynamic of a Christ-like model; of a Holy Spirit (a knowing of action and accountability) and of good and evil or right and wrong (God, or factor of a “knowing as by actions”, willing or unwilling. To imply other is to state that there is good and un-good – “opposites” – yet not accept that not good means bad, wrong; or how about wrong as being un-right. “Ballpark”, but I am sure our good Professor Schrier could easily explain the language of un-right as of un-righteous {so on, so fourth} respectively) – as is also referenced by Christ as in His challenge to the “system”; throwing out from the temple – and even Mohammed had someone write plainly “do not translate”; “physical language otherwise expressed in to an understanding from which the language of Physics could be conveyed, manifested, as part and parcel - being of God”. In my own explorations – following the word literally, physically, and spiritually is a completely God thing – “the stones themselves”; “forgive them as they know not what they are doing”; and the infamous “millstone” warning to all who teach or instruct. ! XII! As well, it is only by such “step of Faith” that one can see the revelation before them - equating to having your mom pass you on the street and having to poke you to get your attention: “seek and ye shall find” explains how we are so conscious of what we are accustomed too, and what we are seeing where; that out-of-place could become completely invisible to us. When one seeks God – they find that He has been waiting on them all the while; and being as personal and individual as is evidenced both in “He will never give you more than you can bear”- is also conveyed in the understanding of “look around you to see what you have to work with – and make due with what you have.” Usually manifests in a great humbling or dislike of materialism as a principle or “acknowledgeable” conscious choice: to quiet or still the mind; to become one with self; or an enlightenment of understanding; as an expression of sincerity, purity, or degree of reverence required to even question or explore the aspects of so real a present God; or how multiple gods and many spirits are also viable principalities, both of physical or intellectual properties are understood as components thereof. Which is why “truth” and “never lie” are also active and documentable markers of a viable “same” Truth; or “One Truth” – is as “of the way”. “of the way” being the sole identifier (soul identifier) of quantifiable measure – is thereby the qualifier for every measure (identify’s the soul). Christ also associates this in being able to name principle or principality being the spirit being the natural nature thereof being the reflective components (quantum physics) that manifests physically about one. Also, as a faction of “mind over matter” or “spirit over flesh”, equates or acknowledges an ability of individual availability of all living things to account or witness, by action or in word; an understanding of God. “God will not be ! XIII! mocked” is represented from man to beast to plant to water to fire to everything. All things of a relative one equation – as in pi writing itself. By recognizing the common protocols or progression of “the” or “a” reality of an action or event – Omnipresent; Omnipitant; Alpha and Omega is the basis of a healthy understanding or accepted Truth of “the fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom.” When you know what “is” is, it is impossible to except that we are ever alone. Enter “Monk” as “Priest”, “Rabbi” as “Lord” if you will, and one sees the connection to such choice of celbasy, modesty, humility as the agamas, salat, siddur, as commons of the siddhantas; prophets, apostles; disciples; codes or rules of engagement. We decrease as He increases is no different than trial by err explaining the understanding of a learning by mistake – or independent challenge, man dominating his personal environment as by cause and effect. Every road validates “a God” in every way. A right and a wrong; and a varying measure of contempt. My common – “He is either God of all or He is not God at all.” I would dare say that it is not the recognition of God that has been exampled – but more of a validation of an understanding of self – self-righteous to self qualified to self realized: I like; I want; I need. “But God” as relates to what manifests, being of the Word – good or bad – as does reveal the guilty and the faithful; as in “even the bad will be made for good for those who love the Lord” to “be sure your sins will find you out” – to Christ, as like unto the Father, knowing of all truth of the way of all. “Where can one hide from God?” The “warrior” understanding varies from Levite to Gautama Clan, as the Zelet as the Sihk as the Samurai; being inkind of an Army, or potential “giant”, forged by common of survival to stabilize one common as the platform of which all can be of a one continuum: that which permits for an identity and a relative principle ! XIV! function – the adaptive within the construct of one sound and one light of discipline, with a consideration for one common of flow; within one reason, one wisdom that is verifiably wise (for the literal “is” represents having a real potential and capability of - even if never acted upon; being still is.) Of course this also equates to energy expressions being all of sound, light, and vibration – which can be conveyed as well in concepts of audio, visual and motion; being the expression of an interactive and inter-faceable consciousness – Faith as predicated upon any form of actions, physical or intellectual; intended or unintended; understood or not; having equal consequences for same reason (of same source: act like this and you are reflecting a Psalmist; act like that you are a Gregorian – same individual, different characteristic = different life or “dualism”). Actually, every life is as every individual historically recorded; as every character of creature Biblically acknowledged; is as being of one same man. Such is why Christ anointed His Disciples – being the following of a given of instruction – like Jesus being Baptized by John the Baptizer; the Ten Commandments to the writings of Confucius being equally a conveyance of a given of instruction, verifying itself as it unfolds. The story of the Siddhartha being as the story of Mary being as the story of Jesus being the story of Moses being the story of Abraham – vertical integration to horizontal expansion – consciousness awakening – or the revelation of Gensis. As it was in the beginning – brings us to the first century, where all are required to “choose you this day”. To confess to craving, one can then lead the flesh in understanding of “I need”; To confess to needing one does promote the flesh to “want”; To confess to wanting, one convinces the flesh that it “must have”; To confess to “must have”, one convinces the flesh to act upon. To confess to acting upon, the flesh must convince the spirit that it was righteous. ! XV! In the seasons of flesh and spirit as one and together conscious. Reincarnation does not deny the verdict books – but corresponds the continuum of life to life from life being of life; Karma does not deny the caste system – rather it conveys a model of absolute as has Justice always being above any earthly power; the teaching of the middle way is Christ; the four noble truths are as virtue as also relates to elements such as earth-wood-fire and water. Water being of a Baptizim, a cleansing, a washing away to make clean. From a River to a Valley: life and man - time and tide - being one expressive motion of one exclusive truth. In this way, “Buddhism goes to China” is merely to justify the Faith and provide the parishioners a common defense against any of a multiple form of regionally-centric egotistical persecution (mob rule) style of societal persecution. Not by common of moral, but by common of self-preservation, “common sense”: openly in agreement with local authority – privately in agreement with God; as in “that which you do in the open you will be rewarded in open” (your life spared to your life glorified by martyrdom – as elected by you) “that which you do in secret will be rewarded in Heaven.” Of course there is also the Lord’s Prayer “On earth as it is in Heaven”; even exampled in a real model of life to death to life;but until such time of the realization of such a glorious understanding of unilateral, the faithful, the humble, the timid, the widow and the orphan; pray for the manna of a daily sustenance. Many universe is the understanding of a collective of all individuals as well all animals; all vegetation; all discernible of all things as everything, visible to invisible – of a “Pure Land”. ! XVI! Intuitive can best be realized as being conscious of a consciousness; as like “I have written my name upon your heart”. Which also demonstrates such physical of common descriptive to provide a real definition as qualified by observation of circumstance or happenings that manifest a uniquely undeniable; again, a layman and expert association of cause and effect. Sikhism; Judaism; Islam; Christianity; each have ability, obligation, and a responsibility given by God to aggressively defend the Faith against the witchcraft of misteaching; from the hanging and disembowelment of Judis to being beheaded; to being burned alive, both heritic, family and any servants having been contaminated by such teaching. I dare associate that a temple is directly evidence of an altar – a public marker as does commemorate a revelation in understanding – and place signs along the path so as to guide future generations while maintaining principles of wisdom having been gained in the expansion of a common of understanding. Figuratively, also 12 Disciples as to 12 Imams as to 12 Tribes (both Ishmael & Isic); 12 months; 12 signs of the Zodiac; 12 common personalities – and many inter-relative numerical associations that form a numerical “inter-face” or available schematic of 10 kings to 10 reflecting personalities of human behavioral traits – which also incorporate an understanding of earth, wind, fire, and water as descriptors of human emotion. The prayer wheel? My supposition is that this directly relates to the medicine wheel of the people of the Lower Nile Valley (Descendents of Seth, Beloved third son of Adam and Eve). I would also assert its being as well representative of the principles of the Rosary or the Prayer Beads of Islam; being reflective of Christ teachings on the proper way to worship God, cast out demons, and pray. A way of direct communication or witness of a personal relationship between the created and the creator; from the purpose Ash Wednesday to the principles of ! XVII! bindi and an understanding of shokra, chi, tilak communion or “co-habitate”; co- exist; as community; an open conscious association between emotion, character, and decisive reasoning as being the base principle of a Just God and also “civil”, or of being civic - upon which a society can grow & prosper, as in “of, by, and for” all people is to “Well-Blessed and Highly Favored” – a society able & qualified to be Blessed by God as would-be a culmination of flocks owned/cared-for by the Good Sheppard. I feel inclined to enter a personal perspective of “Shep” being as a vehicle: a ship – and “pard” as a derivative of “pardon”; hence Sheppard would equate a vessel or “ship of pardon”; a directive of authority assigned the responsibility and obligation as by reason of personal will – if you will. “He Will” if “you will”. The base premise of family being a collective of individuals working together with function & purpose of same objective, achievable with or by specific given sets of edits for each to act as of individual, universally evolving, “as a “Husband” being a boy that becomes a man becomes a Father, is a son; a brother; an uncle; a grandfather; a cousin; a nephew and a neighbor - is always of being one individual - roles of all – always constant & continuing, eternally. Expression of figurative and literal metaphor understood to such measure that provides for a physically equal reality. That which had intimidated all as being ineffable – as being the “forbidden fruit” – to question would be to invite death in an eternal torment – that which Jesus professed as approachable only through him.
