I absolutely despise Japans treatment of these dolphins and unfortunately China is just as bad. But having said that, it really isnt fair to blame a whole country for the actions of what comparatively amounts to a handful. Their culture is in fact different from ours, but the truth is we literally breed thousands and thousands more animals per day to slaughter for food. Their animal is dolphin. Ours, pigs and cows. Not to mention, chickens, turkeys, baby sheep, baby cows. Weve been conditioned to believe that cows are just stupid animals that have no feelings. Not true. They are gentle, sweet animals and if you ever got to know one, you would not want people to kill them either. Pigs are just as emotional and intelligent as dogs, if not more. They crave attention. They are so sweet. And yet, we slaughter them with as little discretion and as much cruelty as the Japanese slaughter dolphins. Its somewhat hypocritical to slam them so mercilessly just because weve decided the dolphin holds more sentimental value than a cow. All of humanity hunts and slaughters animals, all animals. And sometimes we do it with unbelievable viciousness and cruelty... really gets u thinking doesnt it :(
