I actually had the chance to stroll through Chicago this afternoon - TopicsExpress

I actually had the chance to stroll through Chicago this afternoon and must admit that I was thinking ‘why are there so many Muslims in the city, wearing Burkas and all’? Not till I walked by a mirror I actually realized that I looked the same and realized that it has nothing to do with religion – it was so freaking windy & cold that the scarf around the head and the collar pulled up is just a way to prevent immediate termination of life through hyperthermia! I guess I have lived in Vegas for too long … It is absolutely wonderful to walk a great city in the evenings in early December – the excitement of the people out shopping, the decorations along the street and on buildings, the insanity of people to wait in line outside in the cold to get into a store (and I am thinking ‘have these people ever heard of Amazon?’) – even the street from the airport had a good size forest of gorgeously lit trees shimmering in blue, pink and yellow. Talking about airports: my good friend Wolfgang just told me that he was on 67 international flights this year and while I thought that this sounds insanely high I started counting and quickly stopped – maybe I don’t want to know if I singled handedly saved American Airlines from bankruptcy…. As much as we complain about airplanes and the lack of service (such as charging $3 for a bag of peanuts), the overall experience is actually quite good. You got to applaud the effort, especially if it is as unique and special as this fabulous approach in the holiday season from WestJet: https://youtube/watch?v=zIEIvi2MuEk Have a phenomenal Friday and remember, Happy Hour on Fridays starts earlier!
