I advise anybody whos going to speak about the situation in Paris - TopicsExpress

I advise anybody whos going to speak about the situation in Paris to refer the following answer given by one of the most knowledgable Islamic scholars it in the west. Especially I encourage our organizations such as CAIR and others to propagate this message, and avoid reacting based on feelings . ----------- About the attack on the newspaper Charlie Hedbo , what is the Islamic ruling on the attack on the newspaper by some masked gunmen, in which a group of cartoonists were killed or wounded serving in this newspaper as well as two French police officers who were on the scene? Answer: May Allaah reward you. In the name of God the merciful, praise be to God, prayer and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and his family and companions: We condemn this attack, regardless of the identity of its perpetrators, whatever their motives or intentions, and at the same time we condemn and reject the unequivocal abuse of the Divine and all the Prophets, may prayer and peace be upon them in general and, in particular, the Prophet of mercy Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. We also emphasize the need to be sensitive to public religious and cultural particularities, and the need to respect Islamic personalities, especially in broadcast and media outlets, for violation of these cultural specificities are what leads some young extremists to commit such foolishness! We also reaffirm that terrorism does not respect any religion, race, nationality or a particular State, but it is a global phenomenon practiced by groups belonging to different religions, ethnicities, races and countries. It is not permissible to take this event as an excuse to blame a religious group or a particular nation or race. We also call upon the Government and the people of France to not allow anyone to take this action as a pretext for pinning blame on the innocent, or to fan the flames of racism, hostility and resentment among residents in French society, immigrants and natives, French Muslims and non-Muslims. This type of generalization is unfair, ugly and against good human conscience, and it will not resolve the problem but only lead to darker days and strain reconciliation and worse! We offer our condolences to the families of the victims, and we wish them the ability to overcome their crisis, and that they be given patience in their plight, and that God guide them to the upright way, and God is behind all of our intentions.
