I agree with all that amnesty international stand and fight for, I have an issue with this statement though. If their convictions were overturned then they would have been released immediately, however, TWO things stick out here... The fact that it says their *original* convictions were overturned, this carries the implication that further, additional or lesser convictions were applied either at the same time or later date. Couple this with the fact that they were obviously either not released or not released immediately one can logically assume that there are other reasons why they are still in prison. Now as I say, my issue is with the statement, not the men. If these men have commited no other crimes for which they should be incarcerated then yes! they should have both been released without hesitation but even in a capital punishment loving state such as LA, they recognise human rights and understand wrongful imprisonment in itself is a crime regardless of who carries out the act.
