I agree with pretty much nothing olberman ever says but he is on point with this one. Statistically at least, he was never a great defender and while he is an all time great hitter, his numbers dont stack up to others from the 90s, 2000s and today. That being said, his clutch impact is undeniable. What he said about the yanks World Series win an minimizing jeters impact is laughable and grasping at straws, and his leadership for the New York Yankees can never be in question Jeter is not the greatest Yankee. He isnt the greatest shortstop of a generation either, nor should he be remembered as one. What he should be remembered though is one of the players who did it right during the steroid era, one of the most clutch consistent playoff performers, and a player who indeed personifies New York Yankee baseball
