I agree with the perspective that we are not yet Filipino, - TopicsExpress

I agree with the perspective that we are not yet Filipino, citizens of the world and reached our full humanity. Although I believe we have attained this in 1898-the greatest generation of Filipinos which struck the first major blow against western imperialism and birthed Asias 1st War of Independence. After a century of colonial education where our operating language is English, and we also lost the Pearl of the Orient (Intramuros) our equivalent of Mexicos Zocalo, Chinas Fobidden City, Italys Vatican and USAs National Mall. The major flaw with US colonial education is that foreign languages cannot translate implied and invisible images, narratives and meaning of words, even through a dictionary-only native speakers of that language can do that. Because we have not been educated in our mother tongue from Grades 1-3, we are not even articulate in our own wikang kinagisnan/mother tongue, how can we attain pleasure and imagination in reading in foreign languages when we have not been equipped with an ability to compare abstract and complex ideas with? We bridged the great divide from being hunters and gatherers 10,000 years ago to attain our full humanity through art-which led to farming; we transformed from Indio to Filipino in 1884 through Luna/Hidalgos dual triumph- because we made the invisible visible-transforming Rizals generation into INVINCIBLE FILIPINOS.
