I agree with this: A femme identified womyn has to negotiate always safe spaces to “come out” over and over again… Not sure if I completely agree with the statement that femme privilege does not exist. I think we all have numerous different privileges, some more than others possibly. Stating that being femme (which if you know me, you know I hate the term and choose not to identity as such) is not a privilege at all in some spaces seems untrue to me. When one chooses whether or not to out oneself in those not-so-safe spaces that is privilege that non-femmes do not hold. However, being constantly forced to out oneself in situations to keep from being assumed as hetero, is not privilege. Yes, femmes receive more rape-culture violence than more androgynous or masculine women, but that again doesnt mean that no form of privilege exists, it means that its just not present in that case. But thats my take.... And I do come out, constantly.
