I also finished the 5417. This is another former lease unit (HELM nee KCS) that CP purchased and patched. It survived through most off my era, being sold in 1999. I started with an Athearn RTR KCS SD40-2 model. I changed the radiator grills and added some details including walkway tread and new steps. I stripped the factory lettering and patched and decaled for CP. The weathered was done using acrylic washes, gouache, weathing powders and some airbrushing on top. I also installed Tsunami sound and LED lighting.
