“I also have a dream . . . . . “ Whenever people reflect on - TopicsExpress

“I also have a dream . . . . . “ Whenever people reflect on the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., they inevitably consider his famous speech containing the quote, “I have a dream.” He certainly had a dream that has been fulfilled to some degree in varying circumstance in our country. As we remember the man today, we can also turn his memorable quote to ourselves, and reflect on our own dreams and how they have fared in our personal lives. We all have dreams. Some have dreams of love, or holiness, while others have economic dreams. For some, it’s the success of education or business, helping others or helping themselves, or the end of illness and physical discomfort. For many, their dreams of love may be a fulfilling relationship, a reconciliation with parents, family, friends, or possibly the dream of letting go of anger, hurt, pain or depression. We all have our dreams. Some can be fulfilled, some maybe not ever. Our dreams are personal, many private, some shared like Reverend King’s, but all of them belong to us. We can all say, “I have a dream.” And . . . . . If one advances confidently in the direction of their dreams, and endeavors to live the life, which they have imagined, they will meet with an unexpected success . . . .
