I always find it rather difficult when a brother asks me if I have connections to other sisters looking to talk/Islamically court/marry/date/whatever word you wanna use. Why are the standards set so ridiculously high to the point that they really cant be fulfilled? I mean, yes, some standards are basic: Islam, intelligence, usually with college degrees. But then I get some crazy specific requests: a sister born, raised in an all-Muslim family, gorgeous looks, not too loud but not too quiet (gotta have a decent personality but not too confident), usually of Arab or Pakistani descent (those other groups are just a bit too exotic for self tastes), gotta have a good degree but also not want a high-intensity career because her main job is the home, usually skinny bodied (cant have that chubbyness cause God forbid she has a different body structure or non-Victoria-Secret physique) and shorter than the guy, wearing hijab of course (and when I say hijab, I mean whatever hijab the guy deems as Islamic enough for him) and the list goes on and on. And then it puts me in this awkward situation where I have to say, Im sorry bro, but all the laddies I know who fit this description ended up marrying within their own ethnicity and set up by parents. :3 Its frustrating knowing that so many brothers and sisters want to talk but set these super-detailed wants to the point that its improbable of finding such a match in the context of local communities/MSAs. Jeez people. Try a design-a-spouse website and see if that works.
