I always viewed my mother as a force of nature, a tiny unstoppable - TopicsExpress

I always viewed my mother as a force of nature, a tiny unstoppable tornado. I never thought I would see her conquered by pain and betrayed by her own body. She will start hospice services tomorrow. We discovered a feeding tube would not keep bodily secretions, and regurgitation from her liquid diet entering her breathing tube and plaguing her with chronic pneumonia. The goal now is to keep her comfortable and to maintain her dignity until our Heavenly Father takes her from us. She will return to her familiar home and bedroom. Midland Hospice will provide a hospital bed, pain medicine and other supplies. We will provide her direct care. We want to commend the Stormont-Vail nurses, patient care technicians, hospitalists, cleaning and food service employees for their gentle, loving care to my mother and to our family. We also want our FB and church friends for their prayers, kind words, advice and sharing of their experiences with food tubes. These all helped us to make the decision to place my tiny (70 pound) mother in the hands of our Savior joining HIM on his timetable.
