I am Daniel Tyminski and I have been clean for 5 years. News 12 did do a story on me probably a year ago and I want everyone to know that there is hope. I am living proof that anyone can get through the struggles of heroine use. I used for about 2 years and shot up about 15 bags a day. I wasted a lot of money, lost a lot of friends, ruined relationships and much worse. I was a good kid in school. I had good grades and played sports in high school and did well. I was even all county for football in Babylon. I joined the Army. I was an Airborne Infantryman that was stationed in Alaska and deployed to Iraq for about 15 months. When I came back from deployment I took a wrong turn and quickly made a downward spiral and got hooked on heroine. Out of everything that happened, I did find something that changed my life forever. I found CrossFit…this is not an advertisement but it was something that I was passionate about and it helped me overcome my addiction. I am now a professional athlete. I have competed in fitness on a worldwide stage 3 times. I have been signed to a pro fitness team in the national pro grid league. I want to share this because there are people who come out from this, they just need to find their way. I want to inspire people that you/them can do it too just like I have for 5+ years now! Please, we must fight this and continue the word of whats going on and bring awareness!
