I am FURIOUS with AT&T/U-verse! This morning I received an emergency alert, said it was an emergency alert system and that all tv has been interrupted for this emergency. Said the message was from the White House and to stay off of phones and only use in emergency. Message went on to say that the tv would be redirected to a channel that would provide information on the emergency and to stay tuned to that channel. Sure enough it redirected me to NBC and I could not change the channel or access recorded tv. If I turned off the tv and turned back on the whole thing repeated. Im not generally an alarmist but this worried me. Dana was getting ready for school and was scared to go to school! I googled around but couldnt find any info. I called AT&T, it was automated, took me forever to navigate that, finally said they were transferring me to a person and then hung up on me. Called again. Spoke to someone in India, said sorry, it was an error. It will be fixed by 8pm. I hung up. But the more I think about it the more mad I get. In this day and age you can not send out messages like that and expect people not to panic. AT&T should have emailed or called to say oops! we goofed! But no, they leave the customer to spend an hour trying to get someone on the phone to find out whats up. So angry.
