I am HAPPY to announce on December 21st, 2013 we will host our annual Distribution Day! You DO NOT NEED to pre-register to participate. This is our annual day where upon families in need are allowed to come and collect toys. This event is held at Finch Field House on the CMU Campus (see directions posted below for details). Doors open at 9:00 am, with our Distribution Sign Up beginning at 10:00 am, on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis. What time you chose to arrive is of your own discretion. We do have some families that chose to line up early, and camp out. We have many toys and all that arrive with proper paperwork will receive toys. To participate YOU NEED to be the parent, caregiver, or guardian to a child in need, and YOU MUST BRING a valid ID (Drivers Licence or Michigan State ID that is CURRENT), the address on your ID MUST BE your current residence and it MUST BE located within Isabella or Clare Counties. For each child you are seeking toys for must be 16 an under, and YOU MUST have a birth certificate stating you are parent to the child. If you cannot locate a birth certificate for your child due to special circumstance, please CONTACT US . Please list the documentation you do have, and we will do our best to try to figure something out . In some cases we can accept alternative documentation, on a case by case basis, following the guidelines of our chapter. Children are registered into our database, and each child may only receive gifts ONE TIME. This means both parents cannot enter into our line individually even if separated or divorced, and gather items for the children. Toys are distributed by CHILD, not by household. We have a system that double checks, as we have many children in need, we unfortunately have to be sticklers on this rule. Please understand. **(If you are part of a special situation where upon you are guardian or caregiver, please bring proper paperwork to support your claim. This information could be documentation from Friend of the Court, Guardianship Orders, or other type issued documentation. If you have a unique situation and are unsure what to bring, please feel free to message us above. If you are seeking large items or gifts, I regret to inform you we do not have large items, or expensive electronics (for instance game systems, video games, bikes, etc.). We are able to provide gifts based upon monetary and physical toy donations. These items are not often donated, and are in such low quantity when received we do not have them on hand to give out. We purchase very nice items (you will not be disappointed!) as well as are able to offer more of a variety by purchasing items with all children in mind. You will be able to find many very nice items, and stocking stuffers, for your children. We run one of the best programs, and have received national recognition for the efforts of our Coordinators and Volunteers. We work very hard all year to bring you the very best! Finch Field House is located at on Preston Avenue. Directions are as follows: Turn off Mission Str. onto Preston Str. by Arbys & go to the stop sign, its on the right. Now for a few rules just to insure a great time is had by all: 1. Please keep in mind this is a family event. Children are present, some are even volunteers. 2. We will not tolerate any fighting, misconduct, to others; including volunteers. Police can always be found in attendance volunteering and keeping a watchful eye. We are volunteers, and do our best to insure everyone is processed as quickly as possible, and that everyone has an enjoyable experience. We have had to refuse service to those who show up intoxicated and confrontational. We do not wish to repeat this. No one wins, especially the children. 3. If you encounter any issues you feel are a concern, please feel free to ask to speak directly to one of our Coordinators. They are the people in charge, and will make themselves available to hear your concern, and address any issue they deem necessary.
