Shun violence of all forms: the bane of conversion and re-conversion The root causes of violence are prejudice, likes and dislikes. The ways to root out these causes are through compassion, dispassionate attitude to arrive at the truth and dispensation of justice. The recent violent episodes in USA, mid-West Asia, Pakistan, Sydney and India can be traced back to the root causes and the failures to redress as stated above. The alleged anger latent in the Hindu-based organisations is due to the prejudice of the past. The invaders contributed to the conversion of Indians to Abrahamic religions. if one analyses the past history, one would attribute this to the failure of erstwhile Kings to unite in defeating the invaders. Till the rule of Chandra Gupta Maurya, foreigners did not dare to challenge India. This supremacy of India was possible because the Kings were just, bold and highly disciplined in their personal lives. They could respect and support the neighbour kingdom in this fair reign. Subsequent rulers started failing in this thumb rule. If some of us feel that history was harsh with us, our forefathers failed us even though many among them sacrificed their lives. Believers of Manusmriti were responsible for dividing the society which was exploited by foreign rulers. The conversion act of Babasaheb Ambedkar bears testimony to this caste-based division of our society. Forceful conversions by luring the gullible masses must be condemned but conversion by freewill cannot be denied as per Constitution. The craze of conversion lies with Christianity and islam. They should stop this craze in India at least. There is nothing in these religions so special to offer as gifts to converts. All religions are same as long as the adherents believe and practise compassion and love.Let us cast off all divisions of caste and work for united India. A word for our zealous Hindu leaders. The Hindus constitute more than a billion in India. Millions and millions are poor, illiterate, unemployed and suffer from chronic malnutrition Facilitate for anti-conversion law and instead work for their inclusive welfare rather than diverting precious time and resources in the re-conversion agenda. Jai Hind.
