I am Joshua A Abella. 28 years old. A native of Quezon City. Commissioned Officer. Registered Nurse. Worked as a CSR, CSA, and Fraud Analyst for several years. Learned Karate under Toughguys International on June 2000. Earned my Black Belt August 2004. Fought in FFC and lost twice. Fought in YY Fighting Challenge and lost against a younger Uno Dos Tres who is now a good teammate and coach in KMA. Fought in the URCC University Challenge Qualifiers and also lost against a stronger Bong Garchitorena. Trained with Team Sprawl in 2006, returned on July 2008. 2008 4th Quarter Natl Wrestling Open 2nd placer. Champion in my weight class and 3rd place in Absolutes of 2008 Novice No-Gi Championship. 2nd in my weight class and 3rd in the Absolutes of 2009 Pan Asian No-Gi. Champion in my weight class in the 2009 Nationals No-Gi. Have developed champions in Full-Contact competition since teaching on 2004. Developed 4 Toughguys Black Belts as an instructor. Started training in the gi with Kamphuis-Fabricio BJJ on January 2010. Won the same the following year. 3rd place in my weight class in 2010 Pan Asians No-Gi. 3rd place in Meio Pesado White belt division of the 2011 Philippine Intl Open. Got my Blue belt in BJJ. Affiliated Toughguys with KMA. Paved way to develop pro MMA fighters like Paolo Borillo and Drex Zamboanga. Trained guys to be signed with the URCC and honored for Alfred Gealogos trust in our team. Still to compete in my first Blue belt comp before the year ends. Proud to be 0-4 in MMA because me and Toughguys have learned from it. Loved by my wife and 6-month old Kyra Victoria. A Christian and happy to continue to walk with the Lord. Training guys in MMA and No-Gi since i started competing. A spiritual mentor to a faithful few. An advocate for legit martial artists and clubs. Hated by some, loved by some. LOL A trusted and loyal friend to those who are to me as well. Training and competing with a White belt mindset. Legitimate certifications and not ashamed to say I have never fought as a pro. No frills, no fancy stuff. No pretense. No lies. All legit. This is me.
