I am NOT saying that corporations are bad. But corporations are legal structures whose purpose for existence is to generate profit. You have to be two clowns short of a circus to think such organizations can reasonably be expected to weigh non-profit-building issues in the general interest over profit generation. New laws are always in the wings because new issues and developments and resource demands and technological capabilities are always in the wings. Laws that were adequate to resolve the issues of 1950 are likely irrelevant or inadequate in 2014.
