I am SO aware that it is deep wisdom that inspired Kahlil Gibran - TopicsExpress

I am SO aware that it is deep wisdom that inspired Kahlil Gibran to speak these words. At the same time I realize I have so much to learn. Striving for justice and equal opportunities shouldnt have to be at odds with my highest beliefs about life and the (spiritual) laws of life. I feel it is part of my task and duty to share information that can help myself and others become more aware of positive, but also very negative realities. Not in order to keep staring at what is wrong today, but in order to strengthen our dreams and vision of a better tomorrow. If we as a collective maintain huge shadow areas of darkness and choose to remain oblivious to these forces and structures, we automatically give permission for these realities to perpetuate themselves. Because consciousness has a huge creative potential, we need to be mindful to always keep the majority of our thoughts and attention focussed on positive and heartwarming realities. Nobody can change the people around them. Everybody is entitled to their own pace of development. Yet, we can change the way we view the things we see. Rather than pointing out what is happening next door, our first responsibility is to live a good and honest life ourselves and live up to our highest values. That should include choosing happiness. Yes I do believe that it is a choice, moment after moment, again and again. And yes, I do have a lot to learn.
