I am a Christian and I love to study eschatology. There are several signs the Bible talks about that points to our generation being the generation that is blessed to see the return of Jesus. One such sign is pointed out in Acts2:20 “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.” We are about to see what is called a Tetrad. This is four lunar eclipses in a row. They start on April 15 2014 and end on September 28 2015. These can be found on NASA’s website. The dates for all four are April 15 2014, October 8 2014, April 4 2015 and September 28 2015. Another interesting thing about these dates is the fact that they all land on Jewish feast days. Both April dates are Passover. October and September are Sukkoth. When we look back to the three times this has happened in recent history, even more interesting things come to light. The first event was 1493-94 the second was 1949-50 and lastly was 1967-68. So what events took place at these times? For starters, we all learned Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492. He went looking for new lands. The Spanish Inquisition was taking place. The Jews were being thrown out of Spain. America was discovered which, became a temporary home to the Jewish people since they had no country to call their own. The second event happened in 1948. Israel stopped being a nation in 70AD but came back to life on May14 1948. Isaiah66:8 “Who has ever heard of such things? Who has ever seen such things like this? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children.” Third event was the six-day war of 1967. Israel’s enemies attacked but not only did Israel prevail but it increased in size and took Jerusalem. Judging from past occurrences of the tetrads, they always coincide with Israel and the Jewish people. What’s coming this time? Only God knows. Maybe the war of Ezekiel 38-39 or possibly the rapture which is followed closely by the tribulation of Revelation in which God will bring the Jewish people to the acceptance of Jesus as their messiah. But one thing this tells me for sure is God is real and He is in control. Do you have a saving relationship with Jesus?
