I am a Sr Manager for a large multi family company and I wanna clue you in on Bed Bugs!! Being in this industry I have had to deal with this many times. (not personaly though...THANK GOD!!!) Residents dont know what BB are, dont think THEY could have them or are too embarressed and try to treat them at home....but all those make what could be a manageable problem to resolve an FN nightmare later!! So I am gunna let u all in on something....This is my public service announcement. I CANNOT advise people enough to NOT PURCHASE used furniture and clothing items from people u dont know (and sometimes people u do) If u havent seen the EPIDEMIC lately of Bed Bugs they ARE real....they spread like the plauge and they are 1) VERY hard to get rid of and 2) They are VERY expensive to treat. So do urself a favor and read on. A) Just cuz they are called Bed bugs doesnt mean they live in just beds. They live in/on ANY furniture, clothing...ANYTHING. B)They are most common spread from bringing n 1) used items with bed bugs (Ive read reports of NEW..even wrapped items haveing them) or 2)Someone who has them on their clothing who enters ur home. (but u can get them from even a movie theater) C) They are EXTREMELY small at first and very hard to notice...they are black..like a ground pepper flake. At their peak they look like a tick. D) You will first notice ur being bitten when u wake up and see unexplained tiny bite marks. They (usually) start at the hands, arms, legs, face. They eat and travel at night. E) DO NOT AND I MEAN DO NOT buy over the counter bed bug spray to treat them. Save urself months of embarresment and sanity. Hire a PROFESSIONAL!!!!!!! The sooner u swallow ur pride and call an exterminator the cheaper it will be but I will warn u...it will cost hundreds to thousands of dollars to get rid of them depending on how long u wait!!!! So DONT WAIT!!! F) Bed Bugs dont care how rich, poor, clean or dirty u are. So that has no bearing on it. G) They can go without feeding / a host (Aka YOU) for 6 months to a year! I know this was long...but congrats on the crash course education u just gave urself!! (Sorry for the crappy spelling and grammer....I did this from my phone. Lol)
