I am a big fan of the Sergio Leone Italian made so called Spaghetti Western Leone made his first western in 1964 called A Fistful of Dollars (Italian: Per un pugno di dollari) (the film that made Clint Eastwood famous) After this film many filmmakers in Italy made countless Spaghetti Westerns some that were very cheesy with bad dubbing and acting...but in my opinion the Sergio Leone directed ones were the best...great cinematography and acting and all of Leones films featured the legendary music of Ennio Morricone. These Spaghetti Westerns were very popular worldwide especially in Jamaica, many producers like Lee Perry, Derrick Harriott and Clancy Eccles made many tunes that parodied these films with King Stitt (The Ugly One) I Roy had a lot of tunes were he would open the song as a Mexican bandit with funny Mexican accent! The Jamaican film The Harder They Come directed by Perry Hensell is actually a Jamaican Spaghetti Western...there is a scene in the movie were Ivan & Jose go watch a Spaghetti Western called Django (Directed by Sergio Corbucci. with Franco Nero) ...Shut yu mouth...you think the hero cyaan dead til the last reel The last scene of The Harder They Come Is a western showdown between Ivan and about seven soldiers, calling one out to face him saying...Dont worry with your army business.... one man just come out, whos a bad who can draw!! Send out one bad man...DRAW!! My favorite non Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western film is called The Big Gundown directed by Sergio Sollima starring Lee Van Cleef The Bad is the good guy in this one with the great Cubano actor Tomas Milian as the Mexican outlaw Cuchillo music by Il Maestro Ennio Morricone ..very well made Spaghetti Western, next to the Sergio Leone flicks this is one of the best ....The Big Gundown on bluray this Tuesday for the first time in USA...check it!
