I am a fan of Robert Mirabal and his music. There is something magical in his work and music. Whenever possible I try to attend his concerts. The opportunity to see him in the intimate setting of a 20-table private gathering was made real when Steve gave me tickets for Christmas. The Robert Mirabal performance last night was worth the frigid Santa Fe trip to warm my soul and fill my heart with hope. Not only is his music exquisite and connecting, but he is such a beautiful person. How often does the star of the show come out to help a groupie in a wheelchair maneuver the ADA lacking facilities of a historic building to her table and then make sure my needs are taken care of? He was gracious and charming with no pretense (but I already knew that). My heart stopped when at the end of his performance he told his peoples story (he is from Taos Pueblo) of the Sky Bear who protects all she loves and brings hope. He then called me out to give me a bear talisman saying that he sensed it should be mine. When he introduced his three young daughters I knew that in return I must give him the She believed that she could so she did bracelet that I always wear.
