I am a new member to the group, Gunnvǫr silfrahárr of Ansteorra. Someone noticed that I did a lot of OSCAR commentary freelance and made me Orle Herald (Ansteorras external commentary herald) since I was doing the job already. I do a lot of research into the Viking Age, including its names (vikinganswerlady/ONNames.shtml). One day, I really will finish the book I am writing on bynames. I also look at a lot of period armory whenever I can. Its surprising just HOW MUCH is now available digitized online and free (vikinganswerlady/Stars/Rolls_of_Arms.html). Better yet, a large number of these armorials can be downloaded as PDFs so you can flip through them without waiting for a new page load. I have written a few articles about a few heraldic topics as well (vikinganswerlady/Stars/). In Real Life™ I am a technical writer/illustrator and an independent historian. I tend to prefer vector graphics programs such as MS Visio, Adobe Illustrator, or the free Inkscape (vector graphics scale up or down without pixellating). When I draw up heraldic art, I save the various elements to SVG files (native for Inkscape) and pop them on the web for others to use (vikinganswerlady/Stars/Heraldry_SVG_Images/index.htm).
