I am amused at how some Muslims come up with their own definitions of Jihad. Jihad is smiling when you dont want to smile, laughing when you dont want to laugh, bathing when you dont want to bathe..kind of stuff. Especially in these times of confusion. Jihad is rather an extremely revered concept in Islam. Its was the mission of all the Prophets of Allah (peace be upon them). We shouldnt shy away from learning and researching about this very beautiful fundamental of our Deen. And in doing so we might find some things that we are not much comfortable with. But thats okay. Because Islamic traditions arent based upon the opinions of non scholars and illiterates(ya we are all illiterates when it comes to Quran and sunnah). You and I might shy away from telling the truth. But fortunately God doesnt. But Allah is not shy of (telling you) the truth.(33:53)
